The Cave
Chapel Hill, NC
10/10

My first show at The Cave here in Chapel Hill is one I’ll always remember. I was so nervous going into this show. It was a new venue and I had no idea what to expect. Well, the place is awesome to start with. Great vibe, great to look at, nice sound system. I was thrilled to be playing at Chapel Hill’s oldest watering hole!

I was a little rocky getting started but it all just managed to come together. So many of our friends showed up and that combined with others that were already there, I was pretty much playing to a packed house. I was so happy to be sharing my music with such a wonderful audience. They were very responsive and they really made me feel welcomed. Hell, we even celebrated our friend Bonnie’s birthday that night at my show. When someone decides to spend their birthday at one of my shows, that’s when I feel like a million bucks. I felt so confident and strong yet still staggered thru some of the older songs. Not playing in 5 months can make ya a bit rusty! The new song (The Rambler’s Tune) was a bit of a challenge but this was a good place to debut it at. If I messed up too badly, I could just play it off into another tune but I didn’t and some people told me later how much they liked it. Someone even complimented me on my cover of the Replacement’s “Here Comes A Regular”.

It was a great night and I look forward to playing at the Cave again someday.
