The Open Eye Cafe
Carrboro, NC
10/10

Back at the good ol’ Open Eye Cafe. This was my first show there since moving here in July. It was kinda weird playing there knowing that I only live 5 minutes away now as opposed to 2.5 hours.

I was really looking forward to this show. I love playing the Open Eye. It’s always so laid back and 98% of the time, the audience is a really good one and generally a treat to play to. This night was no exception. A LOT of friendly faces were there showing their support for me and I was so happy to have so many great folk rootin’ me on. Even a face from my past was there. One of the Dilworth kids (from Charlotte) is now up in this area and he came out to tell me hey and request “Savannah, Joe, & The Rail”. That was something let me tell you. That really made my night.

All I can say about this show was that I played strong and played with as much confidence as I did at The Cave and I felt really good about the show. It was laid back, fun, and lots of hugs and smiles were shared by all. I couldn’t think of a better way to have a show! If this is gonna be my last show of the year, what a hell of a way to close this year out! I couldn’t complain one bit!

What can I say? I love Chapel Hill.
